Else statement in workflow on demand for Portal Entity list workflows actions get ignored and returned an error

Hi,

In my entity list I have configured a workflow on demand. It contains one if/else condition and I am noticing that actions defined in else statement get ignored in portal if condition is false.

There is only a cancel workflow action in else statement.

I just get an error saying : Sorry, an issue occured. Try again and if problem persists, contact your webadmin.

How can I execute actions in else statement ?

Regards,

Alex

    Hi Partner,

I tried to use If and otherwise condition in workflow and trigger it on demand in portal, and all the conditions ran correctly.

You could try the following points.

1.Use "Condition Branch" after "If" to add your "Else" action.

2.Since the workflow is on-demand, you could trigger it in D365 directly to check the "else" condition and monitor it in System Jobs so that we will know if the issue cased by the condition or the cancel workflow action.

If the issue still exists, please share more details so that we could help you better.

    Regards,

    Leo

    Hi Leo,

Indeed it is working with a conditional branch when the called step is update record. However it is not working (for me at least) when the called step is "stop workflow with cancel status". In portal, it only returned me an error message written with some weird letters like @#~ but the general meaning of message is about calling an administrator

Workflow purpose is to display error message for users when criterias are not met on a specific webpage (in else statement).

I have added a workflow action button in entity list options tab. That workflow when it has ended will redirect the user in another webpage (referencing same entity) to submit information. But I gets 2 errors, one is coming from workflow and the second it is displaying a message that record can't be find like the id hasn't been provided to the final webpage

If you need more details I can provide.

    Regards
