Simulation of future product costs

In an era of continuous increasing component cost prices, we are in need for some simulation tool to calculate product costs to get an idea of how the future cost picture will be.

The goal is to be able to react and change our sales prices in a way, that reflects the new cost situation. 

  1. does BC offer this feature out of the box?
  2. if not: can you recommend an extension that will give us some of the functionality that we miss?

    Simulated production orders allow you see the projected cost and capacity requirements for a production qty but it uses current rates, not future rates.

    There may be an extension but not one I am familiar with.

    Depending on how many items you make, you could use dummy items and work centres solely for running what if scenarios. This wouldn’t really be practical for a large product portfolio though.

    Hi

    I also could not find for our company. I just ended up using Jet Report (or maybe you can use Excel / ODATA) to design a report then try to simulate.

    Or submit the idea here (I think it is a great idea)
