Workflow - Multiple Approval Users and Multiple Sequences

We are trying to accomplish a scenario using PO approval workflows where we set up multiple users with rights to approve at a given sequence number but only one person at that sequence number needs to approve.

I used this article https://www.boyerassoc.com/creating-dynamics-nav-approval-workflows/ to get it to work with one sequence number, but not if we need to escalate it.

Scenario would be Sequence Number 1 includes department level managers (say 3 users) and sequence level 2 includes VPs (say 3 different users). Once anyone approves in sequence one it moves up to sequence two and once anyone in sequence two approves it is approved and released.

Has anyone been able to accomplish this?

Hi,

Follow this blog chrisdsilvablog.wordpress.com/.../approval-workflow-using-workflow-user-group-in-microsoft-dynamics-nav

Here, in the workflow group add your users with seq =1 or 2 depending on your choice.

In the workflow, where the condition is Pending approval =0, replace it with Sequence=2 and Status is approved

Another general approach to complex workflow approvals is to use Microsoft Flow, where you can setup a workflow with a lot better flexibility than in standard NAV.

Please have similar issues where I have the following users

3 users - sequence 1,1,2 one approver per sequence,

4 users - sequence 1,1,2,2 one approver per sequence,

5 users - sequence 1,1,2,3,3 one approver per sequence,

6 users - sequence 1,1,2,2,3,3 one approver per sequence,

7 users - sequence 1,1,2,2,3,4,4 one approver per sequence,

8 users - sequence 1,1,2,2,3,3,4,4 one approver per sequence,

I used pending Approvals: 1 and Pending Approvals >1 but at the end of the last approve, the document is not released and how can I customize the workflow.
