Dear All,

I am trying to change the decimal precision for all items in the GP inventory from the utility but after running the utility change decimal precision my UOM schedule removed from item maintenance screen.

I would like to know how could i get back the old UOM with the new decimal pricision. I have came across a solution by creating a new UOM schedule on Item Maintenance again but it seems inconvinient to me. Is there better alternate solution for this.

For eg. pound is my UOM schedule having decimal precision 3 prior and changed made in item I1 quantity decimal precision to 5.What i required is restore back UOM schedule pound with 5 decimal precision.

    All you need to do is to create a new unit of measurement schedule with the same details but different quantity decimals (in your case 5). Assign this new UOM schedule to your items.  In case you long lists of items, consider changing the UOM schedule on the class level, which will be inherited to the items within this class.

    To further clarify this issue, you need to consider the following two points;

    • UOM Schedule decimals (quantity and currency) are defined on the UOM level.
    • Item decimals (quantity and currency are defined ) are defined on the item level
    Now, wen you assign a UOM to and item, the quantity and currency decimals of both (item and UOM) should match, otherwise you will get the following error;
    Therefore, the change decimals utility changes the quantity/currency decimal at the item level and un-assign the uom from the item (which is why UOM schedule is empty after processing the utility). Meanwhile, the utility doesn't consider any changes for the original UOM.
    Therefore, just create a new UOM (pound), and assign it to your items.
    Hope this helps,

    I don't see any tables saving this information other than 'IV_Item_MSTR' (IV00101).
