Hi all,

i know, the Standard Maps allow only to sync contacts, accounts and orders from CRM to NAV.

But what is the difference - why products are not syncable back to NAV: Item Card?

How could i do this?

    Hi Peb,

The products cannot be synced and should not be synced from CRM to NAV because NAV is an ERP and has own procedures, categories and many parameters plus stock locking based on order status which CRM is not meant to do.

I know there are certain times when requirement is to create products in CRM in case every product is customized. In that case you can create a write-In Product in CRM and send a mail to ERP to create a product in ERP, sync it to CRM and replace writein product via ERP product.

    2. The other way is to create a custom entity in CRM for Product request and sync it to NAV and get back the NAV product id.

    Hi Surmeet,

again a targeted answer. I think i nearly understand, but need more information about:

    • what is a "write-In product?
    • how to send a mail to NAV, to create the product (article) in NAV?

if i use this method - can i again change things in crm to send them to NAV: article? I dont think so, or?

Your second solution, with creating custom entity is our method normally, but in this case, my boss said:

"Please use the standard entities, because we want to sync the data" ... i tried to dussuade this, but badly, he did not want :-(

unbelievable .. and now exactely this is the problem!

    Hi Peb,

Aha..change from Pib to Peb. Whats your real name dude??

Write-in products is a product which company doesn't sell but the salesperson wants to create it like customized product. Check in CRM products there is an optionset.

By sending mail, i meant that send mail with description of the write-int product to the person who is responsible for creating products in NAV. He will then manually create the product in NAV and send back the item code via mail. You can create workflows in CRM for sending automated mails for write-in products. The CRM user on receiving the mail will replace the product in either-order line or opportunity line. You can also place a restriction in the CRM using code that it should not allow to won the opportunity if any one of the products in write-in.
