Edit Kanban View

Hi!

I recently got into the new Kanban view - I love the feature. However we run into two problems:

1. Apparently the underlying View (which is filtered to show open opportunities only) does not work as there are also closed ones popping up. What do i do wrong?

2. How can I change the information on the cards shown?

Thank you!!

Leif

    RE: Edit Kanban View

    Hi Leif,
Great to hear you’re making use of the Kanban view—it’s a helpful feature for managing records visually in Dynamics 365. I’ll break down the possible causes behind what you’re seeing and suggest some ways to fine-tune the experience.

    1. Closed Opportunities Showing Up

If your view is filtered to show only open opportunities but closed ones appear, check:
    • If the correct view is applied to the Kanban control.
    • That the filter criteria include only open statuses (Open, excluding Won and Lost).
    • Cached data—try refreshing the view or clearing your browser cache.
Sometimes, the control may display outdated or misaligned data if the view was modified recently.

    2. Changing Card Information

The standard Kanban view in Dynamics 365 has limited customization options—you can't easily choose which fields appear on the cards.
If you need more control over what’s displayed—like adding multiple fields, grouping by rows, or customizing the layout—a tool like Kanban Board by Inogic can help. It enhances the native experience by allowing you to define card content, apply filters, and use drag-and-drop across rows and stages, all within the CRM.

    Thanks!

    Hi Leif,

Please clear browser cache or try another browser.

If it does not help, I would recommend you raise a support ticket, as it may be a bug.

    RE: Edit Kanban View

    Hi,

    Whe

    • For your first concern, please make sure you have selected the correct view so the records are filtered:

    pastedimage1597233525294v1.png

For me, Kanban view is getting filtered based on the view. For instance, when I select My Open Opportunity view, I only see this:

    pastedimage1597233884511v3.png

If you still get wrong results, please review the filters in your views, also sometimes user Mix Business Process Stage with Opportunity Status, you need to have correct filters on your views.

    • Secondly, you cannot customize Cards in the Kanban view (as of now). Please see following link:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/sales-enterprise/add-kanban-control#what-you-cant-customize

Let me know if you have further questions.

    Best,

    Wahaj
