Hello,
I have a client in D365 Business Central that is running into issues with multiple users accessing a sales/purchase orders at the same time. Each of them are making changes while the other one is also in the sales/purchase order making changes.

Is there a way to lock a record from being edited when another user is already in the record in edit mode?

    assuming that there are no customizations at sales/purchase orders page, then this is a typical race condition, existing since navision exists. normally that's no issue because this is more a process issue than a tech issue, ask the client, why do two persons edit and change the same sales order at the same time? normally each one has it's own work load. do they different things with the same sales order or different things? you could e.g. set the assigned user field to assign sales orders to a person, then filter the sales orders list with that field. when different things are done, you can work with status field and/or workflows. please talk with the customer about the work processes in sales and purchase area. maybe you find a process, where there are no such situations, where 2 persons work on the same order.
