I have requirement to Change Article Autonumber prefix and reset number. CRM Allows to chaneg Prefix but is there any (unsupported) way to reset the number?
I have updated the Prefix at Settings > Administration > Auto-Numbering
But Number field is grayed out. I have looked into database, can find where it stores the number.

I have the same question (0)I am not sure about the consequences of updating KbNumber unsupported way, but CRM Store is in OrganizationBase table.
SELECT [KbPrefix],[CurrentKbNumber] FROM [dbo].[OrganizationBase]
I think if you update number in SQL it can cause issues by creating a number which already exists. But If you are changind Prefix as well that can reduce the risk.
Again, I have not tried in myself and I am not a big fan of Unsupported things. So Please be careful that you are not breaking anything.
