Released Product BOM Location AX 2012R2

Hello everyone,

we define BOM with warehouse + location

At the production order in the picking list it only takes the correct warehouse but location is always from setup of the warehouse Default issue location.

Is there a setup missing or do we have to customize this?

We are using AX 2012 R2

Hi Albrecht,

Not sure the behavior in AX2012 R2, but in R3, location could not be edited in the BOM. For your question, you could try with simple debugging from table method ProdBOM->initFromBOM and check how the inventory dimension is set for production BOM. Thanks.

Hi Albrecht,

By default system works with default locations which are basically copied to the production order's BOM and used on the production picking list.

Try "Reservations Option" instead of default location and enable an automatic reservation on start then If you will leave the default location blank you will see the location match where the inventory is available.
