Unit handling in D365

Posted on by 22

Hi,

I have some issues with units.

Issue 1:  Item XXX uses as unit pcs. One piece contains 10 elements and if using e.g. 2 elements then I should have left 0.8 pcs. How can I configure such an issue in D365. Any advice?

Issue 2: Item XXX uses as unit pcs. When receiving goods to warehouse I need to put goods to correct shelf. 1 pcs will be two elements and needs to be placed in separate shelfs, so 1 pcs will be 0.5 pcs+ 0.5 pcs and are in real life two elements. Is it possible to divide pcs to decimals? If it is possible, how should I configure such a task?

    Hey,

    ad 1.:

When you say "uses unit pcs", are you referring to selling, purchasing, producing or storing the item? I am not sure if I get your question. Is the leftover of 0.8pcs a constant "scrap" that is left or is it 0.4pcs if you are using 1 element?

    ad 2:
It should be possible to use decimals on pieces, so if you receive 1 piece, you can store 0.5pcs on each shelf.

    Kind regards, Adis
