Hello,

I am using rms 2.0 now.  trying to change pinpad for the system now..  I have seen a couple pinpads which are compatible with RMS.  such as, ingenico i6550 usb, verifone mx860.  I noticed pinpad requires some combinations in order to work with the system.

Here are brief description for the system

1. firstdata for merchant service

2. RMS 2.0

3. connection type: USB

4. OS: windows 8

my questions are as follows.

1. if I use ingenico,

  - which opos version I should use?

  - and which UIA will be compatible with the OPOS?  encryption version?

2. if I use the verifone mx860,

  - using opos? if so, which version?

  - I know verifone does not call it as UIA.  firmware versions?

basically, I would like to know info to order these pinpads.

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Rite just posted a video about this device.  You might want to contact them to get this hooked up.

I agree 100% with ED, get the device from the processor pre-injected and get a partner to help you set it up

and configure it. The time and potential loss of revenue to you or the business or both while your trying to sort it all out? Is not worth the cost in savings you think your getting buying it from somebody who doesn't or won't ever support it. Trust me.

The most compatible and reliable is the Verifone 1000SE -SERIAL Model.  Not the usb model.

Get the processor to encode the pinpad and then send it to you.

Do Not Use the 6550.  You will not be happy with this model - it has issues.

The mx860 -> the last I heard (at the beginning of the year) it was being tested.

There is also another option: to use a Magtek IPAD with the Retail Realm addon, but I think that it only works with Mercury processing.
