Hi

Wish You a Happy New Year Ahead!!

We need to keep some products in inventory whose cost already came through purchase. I will explain in detail.

We bought 100 cycles for our company employees. It went through purchase and inventory.. All entries completed in the Accounting system . We want to keep record of these cycles again without affecting the costing side. Is there any options in Microsoft GP to do such an entry. In a single line . " need to keep inventory without purchase like.."

Any feedback highly appreciated.

Hi Rinson,

Happy new year to you. If you wanted to bring inventory qty alone please do the following.

1) create inventory item - Cycle

2) go to Transactions-Inventory-transaction entry - enter transaction item as cycle and qty 100 and cost of the same.

3) go to distribution and change debit and credit to same account.

4) if you dont wanted to post to financial then remove post through GL on Tools-setup-posting-posting. So once you post inventory transaction it will create financial batch so you can go to batch and delete them.
