    Hi,

I would like to recommend a 3rd party CTI to integrate MS Dynamics. This application will allow you to manage your contacts (easy note taking, contact details, task creation, etc..) while making a phone call. Aside from this, you also get advanced analytic reports, click to dial function and a few other features. Tenfold offers a 7-day free trial and set up will only take a few minutes.

Go To Settings > Security> Security Roles.

Select the Security Role that you want then go to Business Management Tab, under Miscellaneous privileges you would find Merge.

Also make sure that your Security role giving permission for Contact entity such as Read, Edit, Append, Append To, and Share.

    Hi,

When you are merging records also related activities and records are reassigned to the other record, so if the user does not have proper permissions to this records (read, attach, attach to) there will be an exception. I guess that this is your case. When user receives error message there should be a log file to download. Inside you should have detailed information which privilege is missing. If this is on-premise you can also check Event Log or enable CRM Trace and check traces for the missing privileges.
