Setting up a Trial Account for MS CRM Marketing

Greetings!

I wanted to try out something in Marketing module and need to create a trial account for the same.

My first approach was to visit https://trials.dynamics.com/ but I couldn't find any App for Marketing there.

pastedimage1582187342656v1.png

So I clicked SignUp here and created a trial account by selecting All of the above where I asks us to pick from Sales, Customer Service etc...

Then I tried installing Dynamics 365 Marketing Application from Dynamics 365 Admin Center

pastedimage1582187559831v2.png

I got the below error while doing the setup and after providing a unique name prefix for portals.

pastedimage1582187717667v3.png

I tried partner source option but ended up with the below message

pastedimage1582188288213v4.png

Request anybody who had successfully created a trial account for "Marketing" recently to help me with the end to end steps for trial account.

Also, does Microsoft allow to configure email functionality in trial account?

Thanks,

Shyam

    Hi Shyam,

    Have you tried this link?

    https://trials.dynamics.com/Dynamics365/marketing

please read following article as reference to create a trial application:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/marketing/trial-signup

You can configure both activity email and marketing email in trial version.

Activity email: just configure SSRS setting for mailbox as what we did in Customer Engagement.

Marketing email: unlike activity email, by default you can send marketing email with a default domain(which is provided by system), you can also authenticate your own domain in system settings to send marketing emails.

In a word, they have different back-end processing engine.

    Regards,

    Clofly

    Hi Shyam,

Try following this link trials.dynamics.com/.../marketing which is the one I use to set up marketing trials.

Don't know why the Marketing trial is not available from the main trials page. Could be something to do with the fact that you do tend to get just about everything when you sign up for the trial.

    Hi Clive,

Thanks for writing back. I tried these steps earlier too, it did not work for me. May be this is the right method and only my account has some issues.

    1) provided my official email, number and proceeded

    pastedimage1582194832310v1.png

    2) I got this message

    pastedimage1582196488510v2.png

    3)  upon clicking sign in I got the below message.

RE: Setting up a Trial Account for MS CRM Marketing

    Hi Shyam,

Can you see any marketing application in your D365 admin center?

    pastedimage1582197737795v1.png

It seems that you can open marketing application under APPLICATIONS tab, if you can open management page,

try to check whether you could uninstall the application.

    pastedimage1582197872025v2.png

If you could uninstall the application or the link not exists, then clear browser cache and ask for a trial again.

    Regards,

    Clofly

RE: Setting up a Trial Account for MS CRM Marketing

    Hi Clofly,

Thanks for writing back, I was going through your earlier thread before so couldn't reply to that earlier.

I tried this approach earlier, actually Marketing application was listed under Applications tab but it was not configured and I was getting error when I tried to configure them. These are the steps I followed.

    1) Navigated to Applications Tab of Admin Center, here Marketing application is listed but not configured.

    pastedimage1582198684664v1.png

    2) When I tried installing this, in the second or third step we have to provide Web hosting details and I was getting the highlighted error here and couldn't proceed further.

RE: Setting up a Trial Account for MS CRM Marketing

    Hi Shyam,

There is no need to bind portal for trial version.(and we can't bind them, trial version provides a special mechanism for marketing pages and event websites.)

    Is you tenant managed type?

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/marketing/trial-signup#step-1-choose-or-prepare-your-microsoft-365-tenant

RE: Setting up a Trial Account for MS CRM Marketing

    Hi Clofly,

I have tried this as well, I have created a new trial account for dynamics from http://trials.dynamics.com/ and I believe the trial account created is a managed tenant.

Then I followed the instructions mentioned https://docs.microsoft.com/en-gb/dynamics365/marketing/trial-signup#step-1-choose-or-prepare-your-microsoft-365-tenant

    pastedimage1582249187648v1.png

You'll be able to see the snapshots in my earlier response to Clive that I could proceed till step 4 and in step 5 I was getting an error

    pastedimage1582249473080v2.png

    pastedimage1582249496702v3.png

Instead of getting the below screen in step 5

    pastedimage1582249533524v4.png

I was getting the below, although it says try after some time it never worked despite trying several times.
