Greetings!
I wanted to try out something in Marketing module and need to create a trial account for the same.
My first approach was to visit https://trials.dynamics.com/ but I couldn't find any App for Marketing there.
So I clicked SignUp here and created a trial account by selecting All of the above where I asks us to pick from Sales, Customer Service etc...
Then I tried installing Dynamics 365 Marketing Application from Dynamics 365 Admin Center
I got the below error while doing the setup and after providing a unique name prefix for portals.
I tried partner source option but ended up with the below message
Request anybody who had successfully created a trial account for "Marketing" recently to help me with the end to end steps for trial account.
Also, does Microsoft allow to configure email functionality in trial account?
Thanks,
Shyam
Hi Shyam,
Thanks for sharing solution.

Just happened to see Christoph Mader's post on the same topic, Please visit his post for an even better illustration of how this is done

Hi Clofly,
I took microsoft's help to resolve this issue and now I have access to Marketing Application
The procedure is same as what you have suggested in your earlier post, the only change is we should use our trial account's email id instead of work email id.
Thank you once again for all your help.
Let me elaborate the steps required for creating a trial account for MS CRM Dynamics Marketing Application so that even people who are not familiar with this be benefited
If you don't have a MS Dynamics Account
Step 1) Create a trial account by visiting https://trials.dynamics.com/
I have created the account sportsworld.onmicrosoft.com and my email would be shyam@sportsworld.onmicrosoft.com
Step 2) Visit https://trials.dynamics.com/dynamics365/marketing , you will be prompted to enter your work email and phone number
Step 3) Instead of work email, enter the email relevant to the dynamics account created which in my case is shyam@sportsworld.onmicrosoft.com
Step 4) For phone number, enter the same phone number which was provided for creating the dynamics account.
Step 5) Here on, keep navigating (submit / next) till the Marketing Application is set up (select check boxes whenever prompted/displayed)
Remember: Trial version of Marketing Application is available for only 30 days and will be available only once for a Dynamics Account.
If you have a MS Dynamics Account
Steps 2 thru Steps 5 need to be followed.
Regards,
Shyam

Hi Clofly,
I have created both regular Dynamics 365 trial account as well as Office E3 trial which I created by visiting products.office.com/.../office-365-enterprise-e3-business-software
Intention was to have the a dynamics 365 trial account with full fledged Marketing module installed.
Regards,
Shyam
Hi Clofly,
My bad, I actually need customer journeys, Marketing mails a full fledged marketing module.
I guess I am back to square one in my attempt to install marketing module in dynamics 365 trial account.
Regards,
Shyam
Hi Shyam,
It seems that what you actually need is marketing module in Customer Engagement?
In a Marketing application, you'll see other entities in sitemap:
E.g: Segments, Customer journeys and Events.
Is your current tenant subscription based on Office E3 trial?

Clofly
Greetinga !
Issue resolved, I'd like to thank you all for your help.
This is what I did
Step 1) Created a new Trial account for Dynamics 365 and selected Sales while completing the setup
https://xaw3.crm.dynamics.com/main.aspx
Step 2) This is how it looks like after logging on
Step 3) Select Marketing from the sitemap highlighted below
Step 4) Now we can see the marketing module

Shyam
