Defining if a Record has been Deleted due to being Completed or manually Deleted

When it comes to reporting we can't work out how to differentiate between if a record was deleted due to the process being completed or if a user manually deleted it.

For example, a Sales Quotes, there are 3 different scenarios all that end up with the Quote being deleted:

1/ if a user creates a Quote and then deletes it due to a mistake or something.

2/ if the quote is converted to an order.
3/ if the quote reaches its expiry and is deleted using the delete expired quotes function.

When looking at the Sales Header table, how can we identify which of these options apply?

First, as Saurav mentioned, there is no standard method for this. You can only use the log function mentioned by gdrenteria to record when and who deleted it. But there is no standard for how to delete it.
Then, I personally don’t recommend customization, it doesn’t make much sense.

    Hi
In addition to what our colleague mentioned. You could rely on the change log functionality and audit the deletion action of some fields, to evaluate this point.

    Hi,

There is no way to differentiate between three kinds of delete.

But you can create a custom solution for that something like this -
    • Create a new table to log Sales Quotes.
    • On every delete operation save log into that tables.
    • Table will be like - Document Type, Document No., Deleted by User, Converted to Order & Expired Quotes.
Hopefully this answers your question. If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Regards,
