Email Sending Volumes

Good day all,

I have a client going live soon with Dynamics 365 Marketing (replacing their existing D365 ISV Marketing solution). Their first Marketing Email will be their bi-monthly (sent twice a month) newsletter. They have an active subscription audience for 80,000 members in one country/region.

I've referenced https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/marketing/get-ready-email-marketing#send-consistent-volumes but there is no information available if the D365 Mkt Engine will cope / deliver this amount of emails. I have no reason to doubt the Engine, but am worried about whether this volume will deliver and NEGATIVELY affect their reputation score. The link here talks about "millions" but it's not very clear in terms of what defines "ramping up". Would between 80,000 and 100,000 be OK in terms of the first send activity?

Thank you very much!

    RE: Email Sending Volumes

Just some feedback here. We engaged with the Deliverability team at Microsoft (dynmktdeliverability@microsoft.com). We jumped on a call and had a great session looking at historic send volumes and ISPs of the old 3rd Party solution.

Subsequently, Deliverability team crunched some numbers and provided us with a really fantastic ramp-up plan that will enable us to reach the full volume by end of week 1.

    RE: Email Sending Volumes

    Hi,

Here is an official documentation about the deliverability after changing email service provider.

Deliverability recommendations when changing ESPs (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs

It states that suddenly sending a large volume of emails from a new IP can lead to rejected emails and you’re recommended to reach out to Email Deliverability team to ensure a smooth transition.

Please refer to the above link and decide if you need to contact the team.

If this helped you, I'd appreciate it if you'd mark this as a Verified Answer, which may in turn help others as well.

    Best Regards,

    Nya
