If this is in fact an erroneous transaction, you could try the AR Reconcile and Check Links processes.
These are normally quite good for clearing up items like this.
And if that doesn't work, then it becomes a bit of a search and destroy mission via tables which is difficult (but not impossible) to advise on across the forums.
To use Reconcile: Tools --> Utilities --> Sales --> Reconcile
Do outstanding document amounts and the Debtor Information.
See if that clears it.
If not, get everyone out of the system, take a back up and run a check links.
Dynamics GP --> Maintenance --> Check Links
Choose the Sales series and the receivables tables. Make sure you print the report to screen and file so you can see what the outputs are. Check links can delete genuine data from the system, so you need to be sure of the outputs before deciding that you can carry on processing.
If you haven't done these processes before, you could do it in a test version of your live company and post all the results here for someone to advise on.
Cheers

Does it not come up in the Receivables Transaction Unapply window? You may have more going on here than you think. Please, as Bill asked, let us know your navigation as to where you got to - and what window - you are working with.
Kind regards,
leslie
Transaction by customer, then clicked Inv# DC14011, then click the Amount Remaining, it’s PYMTN42109 that does not exist- if clicking that payment then Document# (on top), you ‘ll get a msg saying it doesn’t exist.
Sergio, what window are you working in please?
Hi Sergio,
What happens when you, now (with the Payment highlighted) drill on "Document No."? This should "locate" the document for you.
Thanks,
Justin
Hi Lesly,
We can view the payment under "applied from credits", but the transaction is unable to be located... ?? any thoughts?
Thank ya' sir, appreciate the note. As well you know, sometimes we're just guessing at what the question means - hey, we try!
Leslie, I took from the 'remove/delete' that the request was for VOID - but I really like that solution as you have presented.
Very nice way to 'not lose' the transaction work but clear the error.
Are you trying to just 'unapply' the payment (rather than voiding it)? If so, launch the PSTL Main window. Go to the section about Sales Tools and select the RM Transaction Unapply. See below:
Hit Next and the next window will display all of the Sales transactions. In this window, you can 'unapply' the payment.
Kind regards,
Leslie
Once you have posted - as noted by Frank - the Payment and it is in History, you need to use the
Sales >> Transactions >> Posted Transactions
From here enter the Customer, select the Document Type - Credit (if that is the case), then select the Document Number, use the magnifying glass, and then be sure to watch the dates - this is the place where most errors are made - do not cross into closed periods if possible.
Before doing anything with impacts you are unsure of, it is a safe idea to have a 'quick' backup of the database - just in case.
Hope this helps.
