Trying to insert/update custom entity rows from CSV via data management

Hello,

I'm trying to update records in our custom entity(accounts' addresses). The problem is that it seems like I can't update existing rows with Data management's import tool. Every time I complete the wizard, it creates a new address record - which is not what I wanted. I wanted it to update the existing one. Could it be possible that you can't update records from Data management - only create them? 

I would have used the import/export functionality from the form actions, but in our case we need to add information from the linked entity and that was possible only via data management's mapping. Any suggestions how to pull this off?

    Hi Mikko,

    CSV can only be used to import new records but not to update existing records. If you want to update existing records, you can only use Excel.

    The principle of updating records through Excel is that columns A to C of Excel exported from the view contain the GUID of each record. When it is imported into D365, it will identify whether it is an existing record based on the data in these three columns.

    Columns A to C are hidden by default.

    So, please update the record by exporting to Excel.
