Questions regrading Management Reporter capalities in Business Central.

Posted on by 130

Hello, we have a client who uses management reporter for their reports.

I know business central offers report builder to modify the report layout, but I was wondering if either the Report Builder or Business Central itself has any Reporting Tree capabilities? If not what's the alternative?

My second question is, if it's possible to print the report from the Account Schedule/Finical Reporting module and be able to drill down to the transactional level? Similar to the how Management Reporter does it. I do know that we can drill down within the business central but not when I export data to excel or print the report.

    Hello Zhu,

Thank you for responding, it was insightful, but I do have follow up question.

For the tree properties can we replicate it for the dimensions?

The you also have Power BI that you get a free license for together with Business Central.

This is also a great option for reporting.

Hi, As for the first question, as far as I know, it cannot be done in Report Builder. For BC, there is Tree View Property. If you consider customization, you may be able to do it.

But in the latest version, I recommend the following feature.

Analyze, group, and pivot data on list pages using multiple tabs (In-client Analysis mode)

As for the second question, it cannot be done in the standard Account Schedule/Finical Reporting, and it is necessary to turn to other pages to display specific data.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
