Partner internal use companies, and partner logins during customer implementations

I have a few questions about licensing and logins:

1. Is there any option for a partner to create new companies for internal use and testing without having a paid D365 Financials subscription for each user/employee?

2. When implementing D365 Financials for a customer, will the customer need to pay for one or more additional users to allow the partner consultants to access the customer's D365 Financials environment?

3. Are there any restrictions on using a single login multiple times?  During implementation, can the customer use login 'Account1' on their desktop while a consultant uses the same login remotely on their laptop to assist with configuration, support, etc.?  How many separate sessions / logins / browser tabs will be allowed for each D365 account?

    Hello Steve,

    1. Yes, I will PM you the info for getting an IUR license.

    2. If you are the CSP who is selling the licenses to the customer then you will be able to access your customers environment as a delegated admin through the partner portal.  If you are purchasing through another CSP on behalf of your customer then you will not be able to do this and would need to use a license to access their environment.  Some partners have been utilizing the External Accountant license for this purpose.  Each customer gets 1 free External Accountant license that is meant for allowing an external accountant access to their Financials environment.

    3. I'm not aware of any technical limitations on this.. I may look into this further.

    Thanks,

    Chris

    Thanks Chris.

To clarify your note on item 2, does that mean partners using the Indirect CSP model will not be able to access through the partner portal, and only partners who are Direct CSPs will have that access?

Thank you for the explanation of the External Accountant license--I was not familiar with that, and I suspect that will address most scenarios where partners need to assist D365 Financials customers, assuming that the access is not restricted and can have full permissions.

    Hello Steve,

My only concern with 3 is that it would be against a Licensing EULA or TOS.

On the clarification into number 2, I *think* that's what it means and how it works right now.  The Break\Fix support team doesn't have a lot of visibility into the licensing and how the partner models work... but this is what I have gathered in working with partners over the past several months.

    Thanks,

    Chris
