I have over 50 different locations that will need to be added as sites. Our item database is relatively small. Is there anyway to link one item to all sites? I know that I can link a site to all items, does that update when a new item is added?

Are your items sales or service items? For several of our medical clients I wrote a script that is scheduled to run once each hour. It just looks at all items and all sites and just fills in the IV00102. This is because all they need are for sites to be assigned to the items so they can enter PO's at all site for all items. They do not track any quantities. Send me a private message if you would like to take a look a this script.

1) GP macro/mail merge technique

2) Table import in IV00102 table

Go for a macro as there is no in built functionality in GP to accomplish your requirement.

For the mean time, there is no out of the box functionality which supports adding item to several sites. It is the opposite that you can do, which is assigning one site to several items.

In GP 2013 R2, this new feature will be introduced so that you can assign one item to several sites. For the mean time, you may consider a Macro to accomplish the task.
