In SSMS 2012 when I double-click on an error message it does not take me to the errant line of code. It does nothing.
In SSMS 2008 it does.
Does anyone know if there is a setting in SSMS 2012 that I need to activate for this essential debugging feature to work?

I'd try reinstalling. What version exactly is it of SSMS, check in the about window.
