Multiple Owners for a contact

We have developed couple of new fields on the contact page e.g : how well do you know the client?

There are cases where there are multiple employees know a contact for a company. On the current CRM system, I can assign only one owner. How can I assign multiple owners to a contact who also have the ability to update the field " how well you know the client".

On the screen shot, owner belongs to our employees

You can share the record with multiple users and give them rights to update.

I have something similar, but for Accounts. If you want to achieve what your Excel shows, you need a custom entity with a relationship to contact N:1. On that entity, set all the fields you want and create a subgrid on the contact to that entity. Users will need organizational write and append/append to rights on contact for this to work though.

You could create a custom entity that has a N:1 relationship to Contact (as suggested already), this would also need a lookup to the User entity, probably best achieved by configuring it for user ownership, so each user "owns" all of their "Contact Relationship" records.

You could create the first record of this child entity using a simple workflow. Run this when the Contact is created, or re-assigned (to get a new record for the new owner). You could also run this on-demand to create a record for existing Contacts. Customise with the fields you have on Contact now for relationship, strength etc. Consider adding a field for "known since" (date).

Another option would be to use Connections for this, with a couple of custom roles and customising the Connections entity to have the more detailed fields you need. Probably less ideal, but fairly quick to build and use as a mock-up.

You can use "Connections" , which is OOB feature of CRM.

    Hi Bansri,

You can use Access teams : www.microsoft.com/.../create-a-team-template-and-add-to-an-entity-form.aspx

Create team, assign users to team & assigned team to owner.

Lots of people are replying with lots of different ways of sharing the record, using Access teams or assigning the record to a team, so that multiple users can edit the record. None of these deals with the issue that whoever updates the record last "wins".

This won't help to record all the different people (users) who know that contact and how well they know them. You will only know what the last user entered, which does not seem to be addressing the real problem.

Some kind of N:N relationship is needed here, either through a custom child entity or using something like connections, as already mentioned.
