Delta links deprecated - Why?

Posted on by 10
According to this site, delta links have been marked as deprecated and are due to be deleted as of version 24. A customer of ours, however, requires to poll changes including record deletions client-side, so webhooks won't be sufficient as a substitution. Why is this feature being removed in the first place? Finance & Operations still supports delta links, which is where our customer first built their connector to their external application. They now would like to build one for Business Central, but without delta links, this won't be nearly as easy.
Ideally, I'd like to speak with a Microsoft representative about this and determine if we can continue to rely on this feature after all, or whether there is a valid alternative method that doesn't require the client to receive and track the individual changes. If this forum isn't frequented by anyone like this, please tell me where I can ask these questions instead.

Hi, it is recommended that you discuss this in Viva Engage (formerly Yammer) where there are Microsoft technicians.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
