D365 - [Project estimates] Issue with reversing project journals / product receipt

Hi,

Not so long ago, MS released a function to reverse project journal entries. But I'm facing some problems with my project forecast along with my estimates.

Let me explain below :

I create a FP Project and add 100 hours of ERPDev as O_Forecast. Then I use the "copy forecast functionality" to copy O to R forecast.

I also add an on account transaction.

I post an hours journal for 60 hours  and check my R_Forecast

Everythings ok

I estimate my project revenu (4) & (5) (I set up my cost template on "remaning budget")

Here again, everythings ok.

Now I delete my estimate.

Let's reverse my hours journal

If I take a look to my Hours forecasts I see that my R_forecast is not is not returned to 100 :(

Now let's post a new hours Journal for 40 hours

As I post a 40 hours against my R_Forecast which was not topped up by the reversing entry, then the R_Forecast is now reduce to 0

If I run my estimate again I have a 100% POC whereas I expected 40%

It's go back to normal if I manually create a new R_Forecast of 60 hours. This workaround is not sustainable with a wider scope. Does it mean that I we cannot reverse project entries if we use R_Forecast and project estimates?

Thanks a lot for your help

Update :

I also tried with item forecast combined with a set up to create an item requirement when creating my purchase order (to post the item cost on project when posting the product receipt in order to have a correct POC when estimating the project).

Then it's worst.

First : As expected correct the product receipt do not update the R_Forecast

Secondly, you just cannot correct properly your product receipt because the purchase order is linked to an item requirement which is not updated if you correct the product receipt. Let's say you create an PO for 10000 € from your project. With these parameters the system creates also an item requirement for 10000€. Now you post a product receipt for 7000€. The system automatically posts a packing slip against your item requirement for 7000€. It’s cool because you now have the item cost on your project and it’s useful to run the estimate and have correct POC. If you need to correct your product receipt, the system let you do it, but he will not update 1) The forecast 2) The packing slip already posted. So, if you do this and you try to post let’s say 6000€ the system will tell you that you post an overdue of (6000+7000)/10000 = 50% and that is not cool at all.

So If someone have an idea of how to handle :

  • Reverse a project journal WITH a reducing forecast update
  • Reverse a product receipt WITh a reducing forecast update and an Item requirement update.

It Will help me a lot...

Regards,

I have the same question (0)
