Not able to approve time off request

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by

When time off request is created, it is automatically changed to "inactive" (I believe this is by design).

I then selected the record in the inactive view and clicked "Approve" on the ribbon. I got a dialog box "Time Off Approval Completed". I clicked OK.

The record is still "Inactive". I can see it in Work Hours for the user.

I have also tried assigning myself Field Service Admin and Field Service Dispatcher roles as well as adding myself to Field Service Admin and Dispatcher Field Security Profiles with no luck. I have also tried setting Bookable Resource with Time Off Approval required to "No".

Can someone please help with the following?

1. Setup required for time off requests and approvals

2. Steps to process time off requests and approvals

3. Does the bookable resource need to be a user or can it be a contact?

I have only fully tested time off approvals for users. As typically the user will create them in the mobile app. But I can't see why you couldn't create them in the normal web interface for contacts.

If you want the approval to work the time off approval required field on the bookable resource will need to be Yes. (If no, I would expect them to automatically go to inactive and approved!)

What indicates that it is "approved"? Both status and status reason are "Inactive" and Approved By is null. However, the time is shaded on the schedule board. Thanks.

If the time off request is going straight to inactive and the time is greyed out on the schedule board you will probably find that on the bookable resource in the administration area of Field Service you have the field called "Time Of Approval Required" set to No.

I suggest checking this field and changing to "Yes". Then try again.

    Hi crm1.2

If you are creating a time-off request of a user on which 'time off approval is required' is no than your time-off request request get inactive after creating the record. This happens because this record is not needed further more.

If you have any queries. Please do let me know.

    Thanks

    Regards,

    AW
