Possible Bug - SharePoint Online Integration - Based on Entity (Account)

Hi experts,

I am working on a SharePoint integration setup for a customer so I thought I would run through a setup and verification in a test environment that I setup to review the setup again as it has been a little while.

I setup the integration to be based on entity (Account)

I then proceeded to test the integration by uploading an image to an opportunity (Printers) under the Adventure Works account.  When the image was uploaded it did so in the following path (which is what I think is the bug)

The problem here is it uploaded the file to a directory where Adventure Works does not have the GUID appended to the name.

I then went into the Adventure Works account itself and added a document and it created the following document location with the administration.gif.  As you can see as well on this screen shot I went into a couple other opportunities related o Adventure Works after this one was created and it put them in the right location path connected to the Adventure Works with the GUID.

I duplicated the steps here with an opportunity under a different account as the first document stored in SharePoint related to that account and it did the exact same thing.  It really appears there is a bug here when creating a document first under a related entity that it is not appending the GUID to the Account entity which is causing the challenge as when we do add documents to the account entity it will create a duplicate folder with the GUID appended and then we will have two different locations.

Is this a known issue that is being addressed?  Did I setup something wrong?  Anyone have an idea on how to fix this?

Thanks much!

Looks like a bug to me, I reproduced in on my environment and it's the same, so you should probably raise a support ticket to Microsoft to fix that.

As a workaround, probably the only way is disabling GUID for the folders (but you need to handle duplicates in Account names). This is possible to do in supported way, I blogged about this once:

    bettercrm.blog/.../dynamics-365-create-sharepoint-folders-without-guid

Basically it's about one organization setting and you will have the folders without GUID so I believe that in this case you will not have duplicated folders (but again - you have to make sure your accounts have different names)
