"Navigate to other Applications" button does not match the theme color

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

We have upgraded a couple of our lower environments to Dynamics 365.  We have custom theme's and colors for each of our environments and when we did the upgrade the "Navigate to other Applications" button (pictured below) didn't get set by the theme.  This is happening in both of our  upgraded environments and I can't find a way to set it to match the theme color.  Does anyone else have this issue or has anyone been able to resolve it?

Thanks,

Nate

I created a ticked for this issue in 2017. They said we will fixed soon. :)

Did Microsoft get back to you with a response in the end? Microsoft's response to you doesn't make a lot of sense about standardizing the waffle button across all of office 365 as we have the ability to customize the waffle button colour in the Office 365 Portal, SharePoint etc. but not in Dynamics 365...

Are they on the right page that all we want to do is change the colour of the waffle button, not actually change the look and feel?

    Thanks

    Nathan.

I just heard back from Microsoft that this is by design.  It's part of an effort to standardize the "waffle button" (it's official name) across all of O365.  We've put in a request to make this configurable but for now, there won't be any ability to update that color.

    Hey Peter,

Yes, I think it must be a bug but I can't seem to find anything from Microsoft recognizing that this needs to be fixed.  I'll be putting in a ticket for it and I'll update this post if I get an answer to how to fix it.

Hi Nate, I experience the same issue - it did not use do act like this. Before 365 it would automatically match the 'Navigation Bar Color' which you can define under Settings -> Customizations -> Themes.

It is frustrating that it does not match anymore - is this a bug that needs to be fixed?
