Hi When I try to configure the MR 2012 on WIn 2008 R2 server, the error message - "join this server to the domain"

I have GP 2010 installed on this Win 2008 R2 server with roles - Application Server, Webserver enabled along with Active directory light weight services. When I try to add the role "Active Directory domain services" - it seems I had to run dcpromo.

Do I need to create a new Activity Directory domain? If so, will it affect the existing domain? I am unable to add domain controller to existing domain or I am not sure what the approach is here.

currently the user is AD authenticated and logins as Domain\User and then run the GP client on this server

Appreciate any help with this.

Hello,

You do need to have a domain setup before starting the MR installation. This is a requirement for MR.

The MR install would fail if it detects a domain is missing or not configured.

Running dcpromo on the Management Reporter server made that machine a Domain Controller. You should not have needed to do that; the server should have been joined to the normal Domain before you started the installation.
