CRM pop-up blocker message

I am having CRM issue on one workstation regarding a pop up message. For example, when a user clicks New Activity and selects any activity type (Tasks, email, etc.), a pop up message will appear:

"A Microsoft Dynamics CRM window was unable to open, and may have been
blocked by a pop-up blocker.  Please add this Microsoft Dynamics CRM
server to the list of the sites your pop-up blocker allows to open new
windows:our server name"

Fon the workstation, it is using Office 2007, I.E. 8, and XP.

We attemtped to adjust the following, but still no success.
1.  Disabled IE pop-up blocker and checked computer for any other pop-up blockers (including Yahoo, Google, MSN, etc).  No other pop-up blockers were installed.
2.  Added our server name to Trusted Sites in IE Security options.
3. Attempted to change to "Enable Protected Mode" in IE, but there is no option available for this.I did see some other web postings related to "enabling protected mode" , but I don't see that as an option on the IE settings even when resetting the defaults. Is there some place else I should be looking?
4. I also saw a posting about checking the group policies, but where should I be checking. I don't think we have group policies that would disable the option for "enabling protected" mode.
5.  Tested access to same item from other user accounts on different computers and it had no problems.

Am I missing any other steps?

Same thing happened here.  The link below is what finally fixed the problem, but also make sure that the user doesn't have any other toolbars installed like Google or Yahoo.  I had one user that the pop up blocker from Google was stopping the page along with IE.  So I did the fix in the link below, then found the Google blocker and stopped it.

     http://blogs.msdn.com/b/crm/archive/2007/09/12/improve-the-outlook-experience-with-crm-part-four.aspx

I started with the settings under: "Here are the individual settings we recommend you check and, if need be, change:"

    Hope this helps!

    Hi,

we have problem with this issue again in CRM 2016 (8.1.0.359) with IE11.

We didnt have any problem with the pop-up blocker for years, and now it has reappeared. So it seems that something is changed with the new CRM or with some WIndows update.

We have tried everything suggested change here(and from other posts) but with no success. In Chrome we dont have this problem and the popups are working fine.

A workaround is to refresh the page (F5), then we dont get the error and the popup works fine, but this is only temporary while this error occurs again after.

    Suggestions? Solutions?

A Microsoft Dynamics CRM window was unable to open, and may have been blocked by a pop-up blocker. Please add this Microsoft Dynamics CRM server to the list of sites your pop-up blocker allows to open new windows:[URL]

    OK

Yes, we have the same issue with the following message:

A Microsoft Dynamics CRM window was unable to open, and may have been blocked by a pop-up blocker. Please add this Microsoft Dynamics CRM server to the list of sites your pop-up blocker allows to open new windows:xxxx.com

It appears when pressing the +-sign or when javascript opens a new window.

We tried already things like deactivating the pop-up blocker and adding url to trusted sites. Also we haven't found any additional pop-up blocker which could be installed.

    Hi Jay

If you're still having some issues with the call pop up feature, you can check out Tenfold as they offer a call pop up feature that lets pops up and shows you the contact information, previous notes and task creation if you need to follow up on that call. Tenfold also offers other features like click to dial, new lead/contact creation when no matching records, support for cases/opportunities and advanced analytics on the backend.
