Commission writebacks with Web service

I would appreciate if somebody could point me in the right direction.  I am working on an integration, which will calculate sales person commissions for AR invoices. I am looking for a way to implement write-backs to our GP 2010. I would prefer to use Web services as my integration method but I don't see any methods that would allow me to do it. I also looked into eConnect but from what I can see there's nothing there either. Will I have to integrate using database tables directly? I would like to avoid it at all costs for obvious reasons. If database integration is my only method - what is the best place to get started on table schemas / fields?

Thank you!

I guess I should have clarified.  The invoices will already be in GP, I would need to match the invoice by invoice number and populate the commissions there. I was just told that occasionally there will be "manual deductions" for which I still need to transfer amounts but there will be no invoices to match them against.  Not sure how to handle those properly.

No problem Dev.  That's why the forum exists :)

So, are you not integrating the AR Invoice as well?  Typically, commissions are integrated along with the invoice details.  Or are you trying to integrate just commissions and match them to existing invoices in GP?

    Frank,

Thank you for responding. Let me try to clarify. I am trying to import commission settlement amounts, which are calculated in our in-house ERP system and make them show up on this screen:

Which is accessible by clicking on the "Commissions" button available on the bottom of the "Invoice Inquiry" screen.

I apologize if I am not using correct terminology, I am a software developer with some limited exposure to accounting systems.

    Thanks again.

Can you define what you mean by 'write-backs'?  An example would help.  Thanks.
