I'm working on modifying a standard Dynamics SL 2015 report. I've copied the RPT file from its standard location to Usr_Rpts and have the file open in Crystal Reports. The change I made involves adding a column to a Wrk table and modifying the Stored Procedure that inserts data there. That's all done and working perfectly. However, I need to get the Crystal Report to display the new column. As far as I am aware, the way to do that is to go to Database > Verify Database. However, when I do, I get the following "Data Source Selection" screen and I have no idea how to continue.
Can anyone help me figure out how to finish this modification?
I finally went in and actually updated the connection to our live database and that seemed to fix it. I guess since we don't have a demo database, that might be why it didn't show the new field and couldn't find the table. I was just worried about pointing the report at a specific database as I didn't want to break the multi-database functionality of the reports (if that's possible).
Hello,
I've seen that notice before, I just answer no. I can't tell you why the notification comes up..both tables exist in the appdb. I've never seen an issue with answering no...the report runs in sl.

OK I tried that, pointing the ODBC to our SL Application database, and I keep getting this error:
Followed by this one:
Obviously both tables exist and the 'sa' user or Windows user has access to them. I don't know what I'm doing wrong now.
Hello ,
You might need to add an odbc datasource , the datasources in CR must pull from somewhere (I'm assuming its the following: to add odbc datasources you would need to go into Administrative tools , normally from the workstation you are connecting to the sql server from. Then I think you might see them in Crystal Reports. You also might search the SAP /crystal forums regarding the CR Datasource window and what its looking for.
It's not letting me update though. When I try to expand any data source at the bottom, that same window pops up.
after updating, the new column should be available over in the database fields area for use in the report.
When I do that, I get the same window.
I usually do this in the following way:
click Database --> Set Database Location from the Crystal Reports menu
Click on the current datasource in the top section (the one that you want to update)
Select the new datasource in bottom section and click 'update'
