Removing event handlers

I am having a problem that would probably be fixed by removing event handlers from the form but i am not sure. Ok here is my problem, when i am adding a contact to an existing account, CRM automatically auto fills the phone number field with the phone number in the account details. Is there a way to stop it from auto filling since most of the time the contact phone number is not necessarily the same with the account details. I am using CRM 2015 online.

It seems like you have field mapping in relationship to auto populate phone number of account into contact. Go to account customization and 1:N relationship and look for relationship related to contact and double click on it . Where it pop-up new window, with in it you will see mapping link, click on it and see is there any mapping between account phone field to contact phone ? if there delete that mapping save and publish it. This should resolve your problem

if you want ot see screen shot for the same check below post

    John,

Move the relationship mapping for the phone field.

You can just go to the Account - Contact relationship and remove the system mapping, this is CRM out of the box mapping.

Do not forget to save & publish.

    Hope this helps!

    Thanks.

Also check if this is also getting filled when you are selecting account in the contact form , if  that is the case open your entity form editor and double click on the account lookup and check in event tab, if there is any event handler disable or remove that. Save and close your form, test it.
