Many organizations are still running network infrastructure that was designed several years ago, while their requirements have changed significantly with cloud applications, remote work, increasing security requirements, and growing numbers of connected devices.

For IT teams planning a network modernization project, what should be evaluated first when deciding whether to upgrade existing routers and switches or replace them with newer enterprise network infrastructure?

I’m particularly interested in how you approach hardware compatibility, bandwidth requirements, scalability, security, lifecycle management, and minimizing downtime during the transition.
