Submit a cancelled PO for approval

Hi all.
Does anyone know if is possible to configure PO workflow for non request to submit of a purchase order for approval after it has been cancelled? This way workflow just would request approval for non cancelled purchase orders, and when canceling a order, it would be closed.

In the actual scenario when canceling a purchase order, it's mandatory submit it for approval through workflow.

Any help would be appreciate.
