Error When Attempting to Inactivate Employee

Customer is receiving error:  "There are unposted transaction for this employee. The employee record can not be deleted or inactivated" when trying to inactivate 2 employees.  We have so far tried all of the following:

Delete Dynamics...activity and delete dynamics..sy00800 and delete tempbd..dex_lock and delete tempdb..dex_session.

Ran Checklinks on the Payroll check work and Payroll Transaction tables

Deleted all Payroll & DD Work tables per instructions per KB 851664.

These employees are not in a recurring or current batch or in the process of a build.

We also tried re-booting the server.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks,

Nancy

    Hi Nancy,

Have you perhaps looked at the SY00801 table from the Dynamics database as well? There might be records there still that can be deleted.

Also, a suggestion you might try is creating a DEXSQL.log file. In doing so, when the error is on the screen in Great Plains and when you review the DEXSQL.log it might be able to point you to a transaction table that is being looked at when you tried inactivating the employee.

You can follow "KB850996 - How to create a Dexsql.log file to troubleshoot error messages in Microsoft Dynamics GP" Make sure you delete the log file prior to hitting the delete button. So that it only captures the activity on clicking the Inactive checkbox.

I also did a quick try at this and did note that the system looked at the UPR10302 or the Payroll Transactions table. Also the same table was not visible from the KB851664 that you had already reviewed. You might want to check this as well as there is a BACHNUMB or Batch Number column that might point you to the unposted transaction.

    Hope that helps

    Hi,

I had posted this on another Forum and they suggested checking in the UPR10302 and the UPR10308 tables.  The customer found it in one of these and deleted.  Problem solved.

Thank you very much for replying back.

Can you just delete from the UPR10308 table?  I can't delete an employee and the only thing I can find is in the UPR10308 table
