We always do Model store promotion, what happen to data change

Hi Friends,

When comes to Prod promotion, we always do model store export/import.

My question is this, we installed hotfix on our stage, and this hotfix has inserted some new records into tables during the process.

When we import Model Store to production, what happen to those new records/data? would sync do the job?

It's first time I realized there could be a potential issue here, or may not be an issue if sync will do the trick.

BTW, We applied CU13 before, after import model store to production, everything seems fine.

Hi River,

Which tables can you see the records in after the hotfix installation? Did you need to run the upgrade checklist post hotfix installation?

Hi Gunjan

We actually installed latest hotfix for 1099 change, it adds new records in tax1099fields table.

Yes, we went through upgrade checklist.

Hi River,

I think the records are added as a part of the upgrade script. That should work when you move the model store to Prod. On running the upgrade checklist, the records should be created. If you have a different Test environment available, you can the try moving the model store to this environment to check if it works without any issues..

Hi Gunjan,

I don't remember we run the upgrade checklist during our CU13 upgrade in Production, after importing model store.

But, that's good to know.

I will test it out, really appreciate it.

HI River,

You would have run the upgrade checklist after CU13 upgrade since it has data upgrade scripts as well. Please check if there are any binary components included for the hotfix as well which you will need to install on the server separately.
