Batch is being edited by [Username] not listing username in all areas

Client recently upgraded to Dynamics GP 2018 R2. When selecting a batch and clicking on Transactions in the lower left corner of the Sales Batch Entry window, a user received the message "This batch is being edited by ." No username was listed. The batch is empty and has no transactions. They queried the DYNAMICS.SY00800 table and see a different user listed in the results with the batch listed. They want to know why that username wasn't listed in the message. This feature was added in GP 2016 R2. How can they get the username to appear in the message?
