Item number modified field on whole system

Hi all,

i've a requirement where i have to fill some fields on selecting item number on whole system. for example on purchase, on sales on inventory. with item name , i've some other fields to auto generated once item number has been selected. is there any standard way to do this.

Need suggestion

    Ah, and in addition to that you could check the warehouse location directives functionality, which normally handles the locations dynamically. Perhaps you can simply set up the location directives in a way that suits your business requirement. This way no customization would be needed.

    Items already have default order settings where you can set up default site and warehouse. So, you could add there a new field for default location. Then look how the system handles the existing default fields, and add handling for your field.

    Hi Nikolaos.

    When item is selected on journal lines, then location id must be auto filled from item default location.

    Similarly when item is selected on sales order line or purchase order line or nay where then the above requirement will meet.

    Hi, please share more details. And try to split your requirement into smaller pieces.

    For example "when item is selected on sales order line, x should happen".

    Then study the standard system to find examples of similar functionality, and then you should already have a pretty good picture about the required development.
