Long Time to run Recalculation

It seems that every month the process to run the "recalculation" takes longer and longer.

I started running the recalc for the end of June on Sunday evening(figuring with no one on the system, it wouldn't take quite so long".  It's Tuesday afternoon and it's still running.

The guys in IT can't seem to find a reason.

I believe one major reason is that we are running AX2009. Been waiting for an upgrade for 7 years.  Please help, if you can.

I have the same question (0)

Are you running it as a batch? Do you use batch helpers (in the link it showed for ax 2012, but if I remember correctly, it should also be in ax 2009)

    Hello stevealfie,

Have you ever closed your inventory in the past or just recalculated it?

If you only do recalculations then I would expect that things take longer and longer over the years.

    Can you comment on that?

Also, how long did the recalculation run last month?

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

    Hi Steve,

Agree with Ludwig here. The closing will ensure that closed records will not be taken into account again for recalculations. So, ensure you regularly close inventory next to the recalculations.

    Hello stevealfie,

Have you tried running an inventory close in the meantime?

If so, did that make a difference to the time needed for running new recalculations?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig
