Create Parent Account within Child Account Form

Hello all,

I'm looking for a way to create the parent account for a child account within the account form. For example, I'd like to create the account "Company A - City, State" and "Company A - Parent" in the same form. Is this possible? Is there a better way of handling the parent/child relationship? I'm trying to save my users the extra step of opening another account form when wanting to assign a non-existent parent account to the child account. The only field required for the parent account is the account name.

You should be able to handle this using an on-demand workflow.

First step would be to create a new account -> map the field from the current record that holds the parent account name to the account name field on the record you are creating

The do an update step -> update the parent account field of the current record to the newly created account - {Account(Create (Account))}

Thank you! Now I need to figure out the most efficient naming convention. Currently, I'm using "Company - City, State," but if I use that, the parent will be called "Company - City, State - Parent" based on the workflow I created. Do you have any suggestions?
