Auto adding new contacts to CRM when sending an email from Outlook

Hi all

Here's a summary of what I am doing/want to do:

1. I send an email to a new contact from outlook--just typing in their email address in the TO and NOT adding them as a contact in outlook.  eg. I type in joe@company.com

2. then the email sends and in my sent folder, I can see the email and under the Microsoft Dynamics footer of the sent email, it shows joe@company.com in red, and when i click on that  email it says "create as contact" or "create as lead"

3. Is there a way that joe@company.com name can be auto added into CRM without either adding him to my address book or without having to go to the sent item and click the "create as contact" or "create as lead".  if so, how?

Thanks in advance.

Sean

    Sean,

You would most likely need an Outlook add-in that can add all email recipients to CRM. AFAIK, this is not done out of the box in CRM.

Hi Mamatha Swamy  is there an outlook add-in you are aware of and/or a site/directory of outlook add-ins that are available?

Am not aware of such add-ins that connect to CRM.

You can configure your Outlook options to create a Contact for every unrecognised email *sender* whose emails you track, but not those that you send.

This does mean you don't get rogue Contacts for email addresses that don't belong in CRM (eg personal contacts, distribution group email addresses, mis-typed addresses).

So set up your Outlook options and track emails you receive and you will have Contacts for the senders. Note you probably should have a view that is filtered for records that have email addresses but no other key fields such as company name, phone numbers or address, so you can use this to make sure to go back and populate this other information.

    Hi Sean,

We see clients looking for this type of functionality often; and while it's not native, there's a solid solution with SigParser.  http://sigparser.com/ .

We flipped it on a while back, and found over 40K contacts across 70 accounts!!!

What's cool about this solution is 3 fold:

First it sits on the tenant side, so users don't have to do anything.

Second, it goes beyond who sent it, who it was sent to, and who was copied - it'll go into the entire email chain (forward/replies), and the body of the email to pull contact info.

Lastly, it plugs seamlessy into Dynamics.

If you give it a shot, let 'em know that Troy sent you :)

    Thanks!

    Troy

    Hi ,

You could use Power Automate ( MS Flow) for this.
