Hey Community,

Complete newbie here and I'm looking for some advise. I would like to create a form within real-time journeys.

Within the form I only want visitors to fill in their email addresses. After publishing the form I get an error /Failed to update target entity./. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Also when we say a contact is updated, what exactly gets updated?

And from within the contacts list, when we open a contact record, are we able to tell that this particular contact interacted with the form?

Hope I'm making sense. Appreciate any help! Thank you!

    Hi,

I did some testing and did not reproduce the /Failed to update target entity/ issue.
Could you provide a screenshot detailing the steps to build the form if it's convenient?
One more question: Have you changed the pattern attribute of the email field?

Contact update involves the form matching rules, the system checks to see if any existing contacts have the submitted e-mail address. If a match is found, the submission is used to update the contact; if no match is found, a new contact is created using the values received.

When you want to see if that particular contact has interacted with the form, you can look at the contact's timeline, which will show if there was an interaction.
