It means when user will access this entity form on the portal, portal entity permissions will be applicable on the user. If current user have web roles which contains correct entity permission for the source entity, he will be able to access it otherwise not.

For example, you have web roles which does not contains any entity permissions for Case entity and while creating entity form you have selected enable entity permission. now when you will try to create record from portal for case you will get error as you don't have permission.

you can see more details here: docs.microsoft.com/.../assign-entity-permissions

    Hi zaub,

Entity Permissions allows for granular rights to be granted for arbitrary entities and for record-level security to be enabled via relationship definitions.

For example , there're two entities EA& EB and two Users: User1 and User2. You could use 'Entity Permissions' to separate different user to see different entity like the following operation:

    1. Create 2 Web Roles: WR1 & WR2

    2. Create two separate entity permissions for entities EA& EB like : EPA & EPB

    3. Add entity permission on separate Web Roles like add EPA to WR1 and EPB to WR2.

    4. Then assign the Web Role to user like WR1 to User1 & WR2 to User2.

This could help you . You could refer to this linkage to know more about Entity permissions:

    community.adxstudio.com/.../entity-permissions

MS Doc on adding record-based security by using entity permissions for portals:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../assign-entity-permissions

    Hope the above would help.

    Regards

    Johnny
