Detailed item and or quote descriptions

Hi, we need to be able to expand further on either line items or a quote description. Currently, there is a limit on both item description and comment fields.

I have noticed that in the MS Word quote template there is a field labelled WorkDescriptionLine, doing a bit of research this field is available in NAV and doesn't have any Char limit. However, it doesn't seem available from the Quote form. Is there any further customisation available in Financials to enable this field. It's proving quite a big limitation for us to issue "service' based quotes to our customers.

Thank you for the heads up! Our comments are >170 characters, so would need it to double again to be useful for us, but it's definitely a step forward by Microsoft!

In the next major release (avril 2019) description field will increase (50 characters to 100) this might help you.

Thank you, Dan, that helps. However, we're looking to add detailed descriptions for each line item separately, not bunched up in one text box. I'll keep looking.

Hi Sergey

Yes we found a work around after the October 18 update, they allowed us to use a field called Work Description we used on our customised quotes/orders and invoices templates. It allows us to enter a (very) long description in a text box at the bottom of the quote/invoice.

Daniel, were you able to figure this out? I'm running into the same issue with Dynamics Business Central, and would love to be able to add long comments.

Hi, yes tried this but it would mean defining an extended text item before using it and then removing it one quote/order is posted. I would like to write for example, Supply and install Cat 6 data cabling between boiler, dryer and pump house as agreed following an on site survey with... etc etc. This would specific only to this individual quote/order.
