For no apparent reason I have one user at a client who was working fine for a while with edit gl journal in xl but for the last week they get an error about a silent login failed when attempting the login inside of xl. I have logged in using the same user credentials on my pc without the issue. I have checked the user has logged out of all other MS accounts and re-booted their pc but still the same issue. Anyone had this and have a fix for it?
If multiple browsers are being used it may be necessary to delete all of the cookies and history from every browser. That authentication is VERY aggressive. If you Google something like "business central edit in excel error" there are several options out there that you can try. I experienced something similar and I had to be just aggressive erasing history. Best of luck!
