Is it possible to install RMS 2.0 Headquarters on a 64-bit Windows Server 2008?

I am trying to install RMS 2.0 HQ Server & Client on a 64-bit Server (Windows Server 2008).  The installation just fails - no errors but just does not install.

I understand that whilst the system requirements for RMS do not mention 64-bit Server (Win 2008), is it possible to install RMS HQ 2.0 on a 64-bit Windows Server 2008?

Please confirm.

Bill

I installed RMS SO and HQ Successfully on Windows Server 2008 and SQL Server 2008  Enteprise Edition .I am having problems with Headquarters generated worksheets...that Style 401 Data Upload and Style 101 Synchronize new store.I can manually perform Request data upload and Sychronize store database successfully.Because Data Upload is generated at the scheduled time  but it does not assign a store.

     Please Help.

there are 2 different errors, for Cesar, you can install hq client or server in windows server 2008 sp1 x64, you not gain nothing because HQ, HQ client, SO, SOM are 32 bit applications, you install this only if you have sql server x64 edition, then you can see differences in performance. I always use another pc not server, pc for run HQ client or HQ server with a 32 bit SO, it can be Windows 7 or Xp because they are applications, not servers applications, they work much better and prevent for use server resources, sql server work better alone in a server. Cesar, check if you are try to install SO on the server and disable install sql server because in windows server you need a strong password and the default sql server included on cd do not have this strong password configured, try to install firs HQ or SO and after this, install SQL server and install sql server service packs for correct SQLDMO objects to work. let me know if you have more errors mail me fespana@solucionessimples.net For Leykap, this problem is because you do not have installed the hot fix for ADO problem reported in xp sp3 this problem affect to vista and 2008 servers. because HQ generates ID as identity field, if you don't have this patch, ADO return 0 as identity value and HQ do not know the real 401 generated, this is a common problem in windows server 2008 with sp1. read this http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/952287?p=1 and download the hotfix it can solve your problem

Thanks for the tips Fernando, the reason for the required install is that we run a Citrix box (on 2008 64bit) that users access for our coorp apps, including HQ manager (we upgraded from TS 2000 where it worked fine). Now the problem that I was having is that the install would just close and not complete, what I did to install it was extract the install files and run the HQ msi (not the setup.exe) and it worked! im sharing this in case anyone else has a similar issue.
