Hi all,
I have been handed my first CRM project.....be gentle
We have built a new CRM environment across 2 data centre's, which will have SharePoint integration purely for document storage. Everything is installed, and working.
We're now looking at failover options, and the business wants full HA, or as close that I can give.
At this point I will explain how our infrastructure is laid out.
We have 2 CRM app servers & 2 SQL servers, one each in data centre A & B.
DC A
CRMAPPSERVER1
CRMSQLSERVER1
DC B
CRMAPPSERVER2
CRMSQLSERVER2
We have 4 different CRM databases, 1 database in DC A (primary DC) & 3 in DC B (Secondary)....I know, i know. With users directed to their respective data centre, depending on business division.
Configuring failover for SQL is the easy part if users were all in one DC, I could create HA groups from DC A > DC B.
My biggest hurdle is how do I deal with the CRM APP servers, each holds different databases & organisations. Can I create another HA group from DC B > DC A. And import the synced databases? So I have effectively have mirrored app servers and rely on the HA Groups to do the work for me.....though i'm sure those HA databases are read only?
All servers are VM ware.
SQL versions are currently STD, to be updated to ENT.
I'm sure I have missed out loads of info, please ask.
Thanks in advance,
Dave.
