How could a user reject herself timesheet in GP Web client?

Hello,

I have one user tried to submit her own timesheet from GP18.4.1436 GP Web client but status showed rejected, others are fine. Does anyone have idea on how to fix this issue?

Thanks for sharing what you found to be the issue Rob!  And sorry for the confusion on Timesheets in Project versus Payroll.  We use the terminology Timecards for the Payroll side and Timesheets for Project in GP so I was assuming that you were using the Project version.

    Thanks!

    Hi Isaac,

Thanks for the reply, the problem is related to the active directory, we have one master AD and six child ADs but they are out of sync, IT did run domain replication to sync among the controllers.

Once we solved AD issue, workflow starts to function again as I can see the timesheet status changed from Rejected->Waiting User Action->Completed through the workflow processing. We are not using project to track timesheet, just regular payroll timesheet. The detailed workflow did not show too many valuable info just stated timesheet rejected by the user who submitted.

    Thanks,

    Rob

    Hi Rob,

Any time that a Workflow Transaction is Rejected, I would recommend having the user open the Transaction by double clicking on it or selecting it and editing the transaction, and then click on the 'Workflow History' button on the top menu of the transaction.  This usually states the reason that the workflow was rejected.  This is true for all workflow types and not just Timesheets.

Below are a few possibilities of why it would get rejected, but there could be more.

    1. There could be bad or missing accounts on one of the Projects that she is entering time for.

    2. One of the Projects could be closed or set to a status that doesn't allow cost transactions any more.

    3. It's possible that this user is set up as both the Originator and the Approver and your workflow is set up to not allow that.

These would be some of the more common reasons, but hopefully the Workflow History tells you the exact reason, which it will in many cases.

    Thanks!
