overriding shortages

Hello,

i work with gp 2010 and i was wondering if overriding shortages affects inventory in anyway. here is an example from our work flow; order processing bills out KIT A (shortage override). KIT A's sub kits also go into alot of other KITS so they are not pre-kitted for space reasons. So when shipping pulls the order and ships it the MO for that kit is not done until fulfillment of the order. Will this affect inventory in any way?
